Gaining confidence: Gabriel’s story
“We are so thankful for the help we received. I’m a single custodial grandmother and Gabe is the only boy in our home with his three sisters and I. He has gained so much confidence and has a positive way to use his energy in his karate class! Without the funding support, I would not have been able to sign him up due to the cost. He is almost a full orange belt (he’s an orange belt with a yellow band). It has been awesome watching him strive! We are so grateful for the opportunity.”

What is your child most excited for this season?
Making new friends and playing with my current friends.
What behaviors and characteristics have you observed from your child as a result of playing sports?
Gabe’s doing better in school.
Gabe has a better self-image.
Gabe’s self-esteem has improved.
What do you dream of doing in the future?
I want Gabriel to continue to grow in self esteem and gain confidence in the individual he is becoming. I dream of him being a self confident, friendly and successful student and athlete!
